Healthy habits that lead to Great Skin

Updated: May 6, 2020

Hydrate yourself from the inside out

Start by drinking plenty of water.... this one's a non-negotiable. Water helps clear the toxins that cause inflammation. It also assists in transporting nutrients and oxygen to skin cells preventing dehydration, which can cause premature ageing. We recommend at least eight glasses of water each day, more if you're active or live in a warm climate, for healthy glowing skin. To add a little flavour, try a skin-soothing tea like chamomile, mint or lemon.

Healthy diet

Eating processed refined and sugary based foods harbour bad bacteria and toxins in your body. Eating plenty of fresh fruit, veggies, nuts and berries you're reducing the intake of toxins and instead fuelling your body with a cocktail of goodness, while fighting against those nasty free radicals that your body can accumulate. Your body will thank you with healthy flawless skin in no time and an energised body. Remember your skin is the largest organ of all!

Regular Exercise

Not only is exercise great for a strong heart and mind but it's also a very important key for having healthy skin by increasing blood flow! Exercise helps nourish skin cells and pumps blood that carries oxygen and nutrients to working cells throughout the body, including the skin. In addition to providing oxygen and blood flow exercise also helps carry away waste products, including free radicals. Regular exercise helps tones muscles and firmer muscles definitely help you look better overall.

Skin care routine

Cleanse, exfoliate, hydrate every night and apply your SPF every day! Cleaning the pollutants, makeup and dirt away from your skin is so important for skin health and fighting those nasty free radicals damaging our healthy cells. We also want to make sure we're on top of buffing away the dead skin cells so we don’t have a dull looking complexion. Finishing by nourishing our skin with a little infusion of vitamin c and hyaluronic acid. Don’t forget to book yourself in for a mid month enzyme peel treatment which works like little pac man chewing up any residual dead skin. At the same time infusing a cocktail of ingredients into the skin for a fresh faced look. Follow with an LED light therapy session to stimulate collagen production for an all over glow. This treatment is a must have for all skin types!!

Hygiene

Makeup brushes collect dirt and bacteria which can cause breakouts this is not what you want when you're trying to get healthy skin. You should wash your brushes every one to two weeks. Mix a couple of drops of gentle cleanser or shampoo and lukewarm water in a bowl, swish your brushes around, rinse with luke warm water, pat dry, and allow to air dry. Don’t forget to wash your pillow case every week and also don’t forget your phone that can harbour more bacteria then the toilet seat and were putting that to our face!

Go to bed early

It's called beauty sleep for a reason! Sleep deprivation lowers circulation, which give us dark puffy under eye circles if you only get a few hours. Your body's natural renewal system functions best at night, so by having a regular early night your body will say thank you. To make the most of your beauty sleep and get glowing skin, apply a hydrating mask just before bed.
